Air Maintenance Devices

The Automatic Air Maintenance Device is a UL Listed and FM Approved assembly of valves, nipples, fittings, and actuators to automatically control the air pressure in the piping of dry pipe sprinkler systems, preaction sprinkler systems, or dry pilot actuated deluge systems. The Air Maintenance Device is designed to automatically feed air into the system piping at the required volume and pressure from an air source such as: 1. An air compressor, 2. An air receiver tank, 3. A plant air system (owner’s air)
When NFPA Code requires an Air Maintenance Device in a dry pipe system, General Air Products UL/FM Approved Air Maintenance Devices are designed to control the amount of air fed into the dry pipe system so that the volume of air available while maintaining the system pressure does not effect the ability of the water to move through the piping system.
Model AMD-1 Air Maintenance Device is used when compressed air is supplied through an existing factory air supply, when using tank mounted fire protection air compressors or larger riser mounted type air compressors. Note: The AMD-1 is rated for 175 PSI
Model AMD-2 Air Maintenance Device (with Pressure Switch) is used for automatic operation in conjunction with a dedicated fire protection air compressor that does not have a pressure switch installed, such as our L Series base mounted lubricated units. Note: The AMD-2 is rated for 175 PSI.

Inspectors Gas Analyzer Port (iGAP)

Analyzer port to monitor and ensure high purity nitrogen is equally distributed throughout the fire sprinkler system.

Purge Vent / Sampling Port

Provides a simple and reliable way to purge oxygen from the sprinkler system during the nitrogen fill process and monitor the nitrogen purity throughout the entire fire sprinkler system.

Portable N2 Analyzer

Comes standard with all NGP Series Nitrogen Generators. Durable, maintenance free analyzer with one button calibration and automatic shut-off. Used to obtain accurate nitrogen purity readings at the test port inside the generator cabinet and at the sampling port on the NGP-PV-1 installed at the end of the sprinkler system.

Vibration Isolation Pads

(Model # KVP4X4) are a simple form of vibration and noise control where two neoprene honey-combed sheets are adhered to a cork core. Our Vibration Pads are 3” by 3” and 1” thick. They are rated at a max load of 50 pounds per square inch, 150 pounds maximum per pad.

Stainless Steel Flex Hose

General Air Products Fire Protection Air Compressors include a 30” Stainless Steel Flex Hose with every unit to allow for faster installation and more reliable operation. An installed flex hose will significantly reduce stress on the outlet of the air compressor by reducing vibration and will also aid in noise reduction.
